A SUMMER
PROGRAMME

The Brescia Summer Music Course is a joint project between The Thinking Musician and Laboratorio Musicale Note Di Talento. This is a programme of exploration, discovery and achievement for advanced violinists and string chamber ensembles. 

Who is it for?

 

Talented conservatoire-level violin students and young professionals, and preformed string chamber groups who strive to bring their technical skills to the highest level, who are searching for the musical understanding that will deliver artistic individuality and who are exploring the secret of creative and spontaneous performance.

Each morning is dedicated to individual and group lessons and duo coaching sessions with the piano. The day starts with a group warm-up session for all. During the afternoons are more lessons as well as seminars and presentations, workshops and open masterclasses. Ensemble music making and public performances take place in the evenings. There will be a gala concert on the final evening of the course.

TRAVEL

By plane:

The nearest airports to Brescia are Verona Airport (VRN), which is 51 km away and

Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY) (53 km). Other nearby airports include Milan Linate Airport (LIN) (86 km), and Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) (120 km).

By train:
Brescia is on several train lines and is easily reached by train from Milan, Desenzano del Garda (on Lake Garda), Cremona (to the south), Lake Iseo, and Val Camonica (to the north). A local bus connects the station to the city centre.

Buses also connect to other nearby cities and towns.

By car:
Brescia can be reached through motorways A4 Milan-Venice (E64), A35 Brescia –

Bergamo – Milan, and A21 Turin – Piacenza – Cremona – Brescia (E70). It is therefore in a strategic position at the heart of the main national intersections and European corridors which connect eastern and western Europe and northern and southern Italy.

 

By bus:
There are buses that connect Brescia to other nearby cities and towns.

ABOUT NOTE DI TALENTO

Note di Talento is a unique musical centre, set in the historic Italian city of Brescia at the foothills of the Alps, where the most talented and individual string players come to explore and develop their playing and nurture their artistic originality. The Note di Talento musical laboratory is an international hub which attracts exceptional students and great pedagogues.

The Note di Talento musical laboratory o`ers bespoke short projects which can be taken separately but can also be combined to create long programmes which can work independently or alongside existing conservatoire and university courses. It also is a focussed centre of artistic

education and development. In addition to the advertised activities, students, young professionals and chamber ensembles can propose their own area of specialism and interest for detailed exploration and guidance from the pedagogic team.

Courses comprise regular intensive instrumental studies with one (or two, by special arrangement) Note di Talento professors. These courses focus on the development of technical skills, knowledge of repertoire and include many of the units listed above. Mentoring is given to young professionals at the start of their careers, and performance opportunities are offered as part of the programmes. All longer courses require admission via competitive audition.

The highly selective Italy Concert Academy (ICA) programme is the culminating course offered by Note di Talento, aimed attalented young artists who possess the ambition and ability to pursue an international career.

Fees & Applicaton

FEES & APPLICATIONS

The course fee is €950. 

This includes:

7 days full participation in course (all activities included).

For an additional fee, an organised sight-seeing trip can be arranged.

• There are some scholarships of up to 50% available to EU students.

• For any student who requires a Schengen visa, Note di Talento can provide a formal letter of

invitation for your visa application.
